A practical framing for turning any long note into shareable cards.
Walls of text lose readers in the first scroll. Slice one idea across a few cards — each self-contained, each with a clear takeaway.
Features
Chat2Card is a focused tool. It does one job — turning text into a well-typeset card — and tries to do it properly.
Copy a Markdown file, a blog draft or an AI answer, then click Read clipboard. Chat2Card parses it instantly. You can also select text on any page and pick “Generate card with Chat2Card” from the right-click menu.
Classic, Midnight, Letter, Aurora, Minimal, Pine, Morandi, Tech Blue, Key Points and a dedicated Xiaohongshu cover layout. Each one is a curated set of typography, spacing and colour rules — not a random filter.
Headings, ordered and unordered lists, tables, blockquotes, inline code, fenced code blocks with syntax highlighting, images and horizontal rules all render the way you expect.
Rendering happens in your browser using the DOM you already have open. There is no backend, no upload endpoint and no analytics call. Turn off your Wi-Fi and it still works.
Long content does not have to become an unreadable strip. Insert a `---` divider to split the content into multiple cards, then export them all at once as a numbered image set.
Pick a ratio for the destination — 3:4 for Xiaohongshu, 1:1 for Instagram, 16:9 for slides — or let auto-fit choose the closest ratio that avoids awkward cropping.
Adjust card width, base font size and padding with live preview. Add a title, an author line, a date stamp or a small brand mark when you need attribution.
Download a PNG at 1×, 2× or 3× pixel density, export a multi-page PDF, or copy the image straight to your clipboard and paste it into WeChat, Slack, Notion or a document.
The extension interface ships in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and remembers your choice between sessions.
Templates
Switch templates and the preview updates instantly. Your content is never re-typed — only the presentation layer changes.
Clean white document that stays faithful to the original Markdown. The safest choice for technical notes and documentation.
// one click, any nodeconst png = await nodeToPng(node, {scale: 3,format: 'png',cacheBust: true,})
Crisp on every screen — 1×, 2×, 3×.
Dark gradient background with high-contrast syntax colours. Code blocks look like they belong.
that make cards worth saving
A 3:4 cover layout with an oversized title. It pulls key points out of your content automatically.
Colourful gradient backdrop that stands out in a crowded social feed without drowning the text.
Cream paper with a serif typeface and generous leading, built for comfortable long-form reading.
Light blue gradient with electric-blue accents — a product-launch feel without being loud.
How it works
No sign-up, no onboarding flow, no template marketplace to browse first.
Select a Markdown document, a section of a webpage, or an answer from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other assistant, and copy it. Alternatively, select the text and use the right-click menu.
Click the toolbar icon or press Alt + Shift + C. Hit Read clipboard and your content appears in the live preview, already parsed as Markdown.
Choose a template and aspect ratio, tweak the width or font size if you like, then copy the image to your clipboard or download it as PNG or PDF.
Tip: Alt + Shift + C opens Chat2Card from anywhere in the browser.
Privacy
Chat2Card has no server. Markdown parsing and image rendering both happen locally, using the rendering engine your browser already runs. We do not operate an account system, we do not run analytics inside the extension, and there is no endpoint for your content to be sent to.
Read the full privacy policyYour text and generated images stay in local memory and on your own disk.
Clipboard access, local storage and a context-menu entry. Nothing else is requested.
Template choice, language and layout preferences live in your browser storage and are never synced to us.
Disconnect from the network and every feature keeps working, which is the simplest proof that nothing is being sent.
Use cases
Chat2Card started as a way to stop screenshotting AI chats badly. It turned out a lot of people had the same problem.
A good ChatGPT or Claude answer deserves better than a cropped screenshot with a scrollbar in it. Paste the reply, pick Key Points or Midnight, and you get a clean card with readable typography and properly highlighted code.
